A FISH NAMED MIRACLE…

Standard
Our neighbor, Tim, came across a 24 inch pike that’s spine had been severed, which didn’t allow for the fish to use the bottom portion of its body.  Emily immediately decided to become this fish’s physical therapist, prayer warrior, mama hen, nutritionist and social coordinator.  She named the fish Miracle since it was still kickin’ after such a drastic accident.  Since Miracle couldn’t stay afloat by herself, Emily made her a “habitat” in the lid of our sandbox where she would perform her physical therapy exercises, as well as some good lovin’ 😉

Yes, she is actually kissing the fish…

Well, with all this attention being focused at the shore of the lake, Eli, naturally, wanted to know what all the commotion was about…. and decided to join Miracle!

And yes, Eli is kissing the fish now too…
Emily allowing Miracle to “see” Eli…
I wish I could say Miracle made a full recovery but unfortunately she passed away Tuesday afternoon.  The girls were devastated to say the least but felt fortunate to have had the opportunity to make her last few days as comfortable as possible!

ON THE ROAD AGAIN…

Standard
We spent an awesome weekend away as a family.  Toronto is an amazingly diverse city!  If it was closer to the equator, I’d consider living there;-)  We spent time at the zoo, the CN Tower, Casa Loma, the Royal Ontario Museum, Riverdale Farm and many eclectic restaurants.
